- I can't hear any adventure sounds
- Be sure that you set at the flight simulator menu: options/settings/sounds the [Lesson/Flight] on high
- If you are using an older version:
Starting the adventure during a flight, earlier versions could have problems to detect the flight situation and as a result it does not play any of these announcement that you expect for landing or during the flight. That is solved since version 4.3. Please download the latest version.
- People also reporting that they have sometimes problems to run the adventure with panels that are not original.
- I've just downloaded DWSsetup.zip and extracted DWSsetup.exe. But executing this file on my Windows XP machine it says 'Can't run 16-bit Windows program' error.
- I tested the setup file on my machine and it worked fine. For some reason it appear few people had a problem to run the setup.exe. Download the latest version of the adventure and hopefully the setup runs
- Why is ACT always disabled when I start your adventure?
- Microsoft disable ACT for every adventure (not only mine) you are loading on your flight simulator. I wasn't able to work around that problem but I try to include more and more ACT functionality into my adventure.
- Playing the adventure a while it suddenly stops and shuts down.
- This is on purpose because you are using the shareware version. The full version wont do that.
- I'm trying to activate the adventure from the flight simulator application but it stops right in the beginning with the error message "Adventure corrupted".
- There is an older version of "FSUIPC.DLL" that came with another application you installed previously on your flight simulator. To make my adventure functional, uninstall my adventure, go into the modules directory and delete the FSUIPC.DLL file. Afterward reinstall my adventure (the new version of FSUIPC.DLL will be installed) and it should run.
- I installed the adventure - now what? Does it load automatically with FS2002 or is there something else I need to do?
- After the installation start the flight simulator and you will find the adventure in the the menu flights/select flight/... and choose from "1. choose a category" the option "Flight Simulator 2000 adventures". In the second Menu"2. Choose a flight" should appear the "Crew on board & dynamic weather" adventure. Click on it and press OK.
- I installed the adventure as described but now I can't find it in my flight simulator program to start it.
- FS2002 user use Flights / Select a flight..." and choose from "1. choose a category" the option "Flight Simulator 2000 adventures". In the second Menu"2. Choose a flight" should appear the "Crew on board & dynamic weather" adventure. Click on it and press OK. IF you are using the FS2000 click "select flights / adventures". In the tab "Skill level" choose "other". You should see now the "Crew on board & dynamic weather" to select.
- If the adventure doesn't appear in the menu as described above you might have chose the wrong target directory for installation. FS2002 user: look into your FS2002/flights/fs2kadv directory. Is there a file called "Dsw.adv"? If it isn't so you have chose the wrong target directory, otherwise I have no idea, why the adventure doesn't show up in your Flight simulator directory. To choose the right FS2002 or FS2000 target directory try to use the browse button instead the default displayed directory during the installation.
- If you think you have chose the right target directory but the "DSW.adv" doesn't show up in the FS2002/flights/fs2kadv directory or FS2000/ADV/Other directory you can install the adventure manually. Before you do that, please be sure to reinstall the adventure. Run the DWSSetup.exe program and choose a temporary directory. The setup will create subdirectories in your temporary directory where you can find all the files that needs to be copied into the flight simulator directory.
- FS2002 user:
- copy all DS_*.wav files into the FS2002/ADV/WAV directory.
- copy the "FSUIPC.dll" file into the FS2002/MODULES directory
- copy the DSW.ADV file into the FS2002/flights/fs2kadv directory.
- FS2002 user:
- copy all DS_*.wav files into the FS2000/ADV/WAV directory.
- copy the "FSUIPC.dll" file into the FS2000/MODULES directory
- copy the DSW.ADV file into the FS2000/ADV/OTHER directory.
- Using your adventure the speedometer suddenly turns crazy. Starts moving up and down very fast while the speed remains the same.
- This is not a bug. You are obviously in a heavy turbulence layer. Try to change the altitude.
- On the ILS approach My landing altitude never seem to be the same as to what your GPWS is transmitting
- The landing altitude and the indicated are usually not the same. The reason is the altitude meter in the airplane indicates the altitude to the sea level, GPWS announce the distance to the current ground altitude.
- If I start the adventure, the might come few announcements and the the whole fs2002 game crashes and the application close with an error message.
- I had this experience testing the shareware version. For some reason FS2002 doesn't like it to load the adventure more than once. The very first time after starting the FS2002 and then the adventure you wont experience any problems. If the shareware version of my adventure terminates, don't try to reload the adventure. Instead close the SF2002 application, restart it and then load the adventure again.
- When I used this procedure, the FS2002 program stopped suddenly (sometimes directly, sometimes after a minute, sometimes after 10 minutes) and I got a program error message. I had to start FS2002 all over again.
- To work around that problem do the following: when you start a default flight, first starts it without your adventure. Then end the flight and load the adventure. Then everything goes well.
